Before making any major changes to the site, I want to make sure it’s properly announced. I’ve mentioned this before in previous polls and surveys, and talked about it extensively in my youtube Q+A.
Y’all knew it was coming. I could talk about how Paypal has increased their fee twice, and now I get $1.20 for every $2 membership instead of a $1.60. I could mention how I’ve continually written more and more content, and what I provide today is both more and, to many of my readers, a better quality than what I did in the past. I could mention my decreasing membership numbers. I could even mention inflation.
In the end of the day, I’m doing this mostly because I want to try something new, and in some ways I think this will be better and more advantageous to you guys. So, in short, I’m not really changing the price, but I am going to shuffle around the awards provided per tier.
$2 Tier – Will no longer get an eBook. You will get access to one story. That story will include ALL CHAPTERS from that particurly book, including locked, early access, and eBook chapters.
$5 Tier – Will only offer 1 eBook every six months. You will have access to locked chapters. In short, this is the new $2 tier.
$10 Tier – This will unlock 1 monthly eBook. You will have access to all locked chapters. This includes eBook chapters. In other words, eBook chapters will go down from $15 to $10. See? It’s give and take.
$15 Tier – This is the new Premium Poll Tier. All Premium Poll chapters will release as Early Access. For “free” novels, early access will last 1 month with 1-2 exceptions. For releasing and membership novels, Early Access will remained locked, indefinately, and will only drop tier when the $2 would normally release. Also, Only one eBook.
***As an aside, I plan to build up the early access tier once again. If you want all the content $10 is the tier for you. If you want input, $15.
$25 and up – The will remain unchanged except… only one eBook a month. I’m not giving out more anymore. Too few users seem to understand how to even use the coupon, and it just doesn’t seem worth the effort.
So… yeah, March 1st… this is going to be the new tier distribution. My website will also be undergoing a few more changes. That Patreon/Subcribestar link? It should be fixed or close to fixed by then.
I have an App… again. It’s not like the old App. It’s just an App version of my website… but it should be free to download on the google play store shortly.
Finally, there is a good chance I will be changing my site drastically next month. The entire site will get a makeover, and it will include genre tags to more easily search my books, auto-generating Table of Contents so it’s always up to date, and autogenerated Next/Previous buttons. Basically, the site will actually be built for books for once. I may even be able to allow certain members to generate offline content.
Anyway, I always approach these things with reserved optimism. This is the plan. It’s ambitious, I know, so we’ll see how far we can get. I just like to be transparant, and so you can choose to duck out before you next charge or not. If you feel I make good content and you want me to continue to make content, I really hope you’ll stay. If you can’t afford it, I understand that too. I will still be releasing stuff to the public gradually, with some exceptions. Thanks!
